As a wedding photographer in Philadelphia, I have the pleasure of capturing some of the most beautiful weddings in the city, and this one was no exception. The day was perfectly planned, with each detail thoughtfully chosen to make it a memorable experience for both the couple and their guests. From the stunning Ballroom at The Ben to the historic locations around the city, every moment was a dream to capture.
Starting the Day at the Venue
We began the day at the Ballroom at The Ben—a gorgeous venue with timeless charm. I started by photographing the intricate details of the bride’s dress, shoes, and wedding rings, capturing all the little moments that are often overlooked but add so much to the overall story of the day. The venue’s elegant architecture made the perfect backdrop for the bridal details and getting ready shots.
The First Look at The Balcony
One of the most touching moments of any wedding is the first look, and this couple had the most romantic one. We headed to the balcony of the Ballroom at The Ben, where the bride and groom shared a private moment before the excitement of the ceremony began. It was intimate, emotional, and a beautiful way to start their day together.
Photos at Merchant Exchange
After the first look, we made our way to Merchant Exchange, one of my favorite spots for wedding photos in Philadelphia. The building’s classic grey stone exterior bounces light in such a stunning way, creating a timeless and romantic atmosphere for photos. The cobblestone streets surrounding the building added a rustic texture that made the photos feel both vintage and modern. It’s one of the most beautiful locations for capturing both bridal party and bride and groom portraits.
Exploring the 17th Century Gardens
Next, we ventured to the 17th Century Gardens, famous in the city for their natural beauty and historic charm. The lush greenery, blooming flowers, and winding pathways created a serene and romantic backdrop for more photos of the bride and groom. The gardens felt like a peaceful escape in the middle of the city, and the light filtering through the trees added a magical quality to the photos.
Returning to The Ballroom for the Ceremony
After spending some time at these incredible locations, we headed back to the Ballroom at The Ben for the ceremony. The venue was just as stunning as ever, and the couple’s vows were heartfelt and emotional. The space itself set a perfect stage for such an intimate and important moment.
Cocktail Hour, Reception, and Dancing
The cocktail hour, reception, and dancing were all beautiful. Every detail—from the carefully selected centerpieces to the perfectly crafted floral arrangements—was designed to perfection. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and truly memorable. The guests were treated to an evening of great food, drinks, and entertainment, and the dancing was a highlight of the night.
A Wedding to Remember
This wedding was one for the books. The couple’s love for each other was evident in every moment, and their carefully planned day was nothing short of spectacular. It was an honor to be part of such a meaningful day and to capture memories that will be cherished for years to come.
As a Philadelphia wedding photographer, I am grateful for the opportunity to work with couples who value the timeless beauty of their wedding day. From iconic venues like the Ballroom at The Ben and Merchant Exchange to hidden gems like the 17th Century Gardens, I love exploring the many unique locations Philadelphia has to offer.
